Decision polarizes parents

A Virginia school board is scheduled to vote this week on the departure of its superintendent after a 6-year-old student shot and wounded his teacher.

A Tennessee school district has voted to ban a Pulitzer Prize-winning graphic novel about the Holocaust due to “inappropriate language” and an illustration of a nude woman.

Several Katy ISD parents are upset over certain books that are on the shelves at their kid’s schools. The parents said the books are obscene and sexually explicit in nature.

Dozens of parents and students attended Katy Independent School District’s special board meeting Monday.

Colony Bend Elementary School parent Rachel Hancock said it takes a special person to want to run for a board of trustee position.
