HOUSTON – So before we get to the performances from Monday night, a quick sidebar: on a show about singing/vocal ability… really, 50 Cent? Last week he gave Cassadee Pope THE song that will be her legacy on this show and most likely launch her career. That said, I did love this performance and I actually really liked the song. He has proven to be the most consistent artist in the competition, with great song choice after great song choice. Maybe it's the impact of a live crowd on the performers, the coaches, and the viewers at home. Terry McDermott from Team Blake was on top coming out of the Knockout Rounds, so I totally get why Blake chose "Don't Stop Believin" for Terry. The night started off with a good ole fashioned country battle between Liz Davis and Nicole Johnson on Team Blake. Emily Earle vs. Mackenzie BourgI obviously had my favorites coming into these Battle Rounds, and Kayla Nevarez was definitely one of them. So I can't even pretend like I didn't have a huge bias coming into her battle against Alessandra Guercio for a spot on Team Adam. She's found a home on Team Xtina as our favorite overly-exposed coach used her first Steal to round out her team of pop artists. Michael sees Dr. Lee trying to call 911 so he smashes the phone, locks Dr. Lee in the storage unit and runs off. But this would be too much for one celebrity to tackle, so Arsenio and Clay were each given four celebrity helpers. Meanwhile, on Team Clay, you have many strong (read: annoying as all hell) personalities, namely Aubrey O'Day and Debbie Gibson to contend with. Clay has put Penn in charge of the PSA, Aubrey in charge of the party/event itself, and Debbie in charge of the music. Not entirely sure how that's going to work out…… And we won't find out until next week's season finale of The Celebrity Apprentice!
