CONGRATULATIONS!! Cook is committed to playing collegiate volleyball at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, and according to her coach, Jenny Adcock, pushes her teammates with her competitiveness.

The eighth $2,500 scholarship winner of the year is Reece Simmons-Miller, who is currently a senior at Cy-Fair High School located in the Cy-Fair Independent School District.

Bill C Potts grew up in Houston, attending Stratford High School where he played soccer and was in the band.  He got his undergrad degree at the University of Texas where he played in the Longhorn Band.   Bill has beat cancer FIVE times so far – having been saved multiple times from his lymphoma at MD Anderson in Houston. Bill’s story is one of hope.   His cancer is incurable.  By owning his cancer journey, he continues to beat it.  He lives life to the fullest, despite his diagnosis, with a goal of helping other cancer patients.

In the first game of the season, Tomball High School faces Stratford High School in their own stadium. The game ended with the final score being 28-46. Here are some pictures from the game:

VYPE recently traveled out to Spring Branch ISD and Stratford High School for the Spring 2022 Media Day.

KPRC 2 and Texas Mattress Makers are surprising 20 deserving high school seniors with scholarships. All students selected for scholarships have been nominated by their high schools.

A post circulating on social media in the Spring Branch community has caused concern. Students at Stratford High School in Spring Branch ISD voiced concern over feeling uncomfortable with a class activity by a teacher who officials said is now on administrative leave.

HOUSTON – Wednesday represented signing day for winter and spring sports, with hundreds of high school athletes signing to play sports at big-time programs. The Stratford Spartans sent eight players across various sports to signing day, including a baseball rivalry. Baseball teammates now rivalsStratford has a great baseball team, in part due to Mark Perkins and Tab Tracy. Perkins, a pitcher will play at Rice while Tracy, a versatile OF/1B, will play at the University of Houston. Perkins said he wants to keep the Rice pitching tradition alive and hopes to win a championship with the Owls.

HOUSTON - It was a busy day across the City of Houston. Area athletes across multiple sports signed their National Letters of Intent to seal their college choices. VYPE Houston traveled to multiple signing day events including Spring Branch ISD's Memorial and Stratford High School, St. Pius X, The Woodlands Christian Academy, Concordia Lutheran, Lutheran South and a few others.
