Construction crews are working around the clock to make repairs to the Lake Livingston Dam after near-historic rainfall caused damage to the dam.

Emergency crews are responding to a gas line explosion that occurred along the banks of the Trinity River near the near the Polk-San Jacinto county line, according to the authorities. CLEVELAND, Texas The bodies of two teens who jumped into the Trinity River to save a child and her father were found Monday, authorities said. Authorities said the 5-year-old and her father were playing in the water when the child started struggling, so her father tried to save her. According to Captain Ken DeFoor, the 17 and 18-year-old jumped in the water when they realized the man and his daughter were struggling. The little 5-year-old girl got into trouble in the water and father went after her, rescued her and, at the time, two good Samaritans tried to assist also, DeFor said. During this process, the father ingested some water (and) we had to send life flight he was transported to a Houston hospital but, unfortunately, the two good Samaritans ... went under.Their bodies were recovered Monday morning, according to authorities.

TRINITY RIVER, Texas – Two wildlife removal experts killed a 488-pound feral hog around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night in the Trinity River area northeast of Houston. KSAT spoke with Joel Dudley, the owner of Nuisance Wildlife Removal who said he and his friend Mike Huckaby were out making rounds in the area when they spotted the massive animal. “It’s not the only big boar we shot that night. CHAMBERS COUNTY, Texas – A Mother's Day family outing on the Trinity River ended in tragedy. According to the Chambers County Sheriff's Office, a family from the Mont Belvieu-Dayton area in Chambers County were boating on the Trinity River to celebrate Mother's Day. The father was driving the family boat, pulling his children on a large tube behind the boat. This is just truly a tragic accident," said Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne.
