The crash has cleared and the highway has reopened, according to Houston Transtar.

Severe storms left their mark on the Houston area as they moved through Thursday evening.

As temperatures continue to drop in the Houston area Monday, drivers are urged to use caution as officials are now reporting ice on several roadways in the area.

Multiple lanes are closed on US-290 westbound and Becker Road after a crash involving an 18-wheeler Thursday, Harris County Precinct 4 constable deputies said.

A person was reportedly killed and another injured during an incident in the Hockley area on Sunday afternoon.

Several westbound lanes were blocked on US 290 near Beltway 8 Friday morning after a two-vehicle crash, according to Houston Transtar.

Perez said a substance called brine -- made of salt and water -- is currently being spread on some area roadways ahead of the weekend weather. CYPRESS, Texas – Traffic delays are underway after an 18-wheeler fell off the Highway 290 overpass in Cypress Thursday, according to Harris County sheriff’s deputies. Crews said they were called to the scene on US 290 near SH 99 and were told a tractor-trailer fell off the overpass. US 290/ SH99 Entrapment 12.17.20 Crews respond to a motor vehicle with entrapment on US 290 near SH 99 involving a tractor-trailer that reportedly fell off the overpass Thursday morning in Cypress. Fire crews extricated an adult male who was trapped inside the cab of the truck and EMS transported the patient in critical condition. The Harris County Sheriff's Office is on-scene investigating this incident.

A 12-year-old was hospitalized in critical condition Sunday following a wreck on US 290, according to the Cy-Fair Fire Department. The wreck happened at around 9:40 a.m. on US 290 near Mason Rd. Investigators said the 12-year-old boy was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated. Three people, including the 12-year-old, were transported to an area hospital following the crash. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.

HOUSTON, Texas One person is dead following a fiery crash on US 290 overnight, according to the Houston Police Department. Early Saturday morning, while driving down US 290 near Bingle Road, Houston police officers observed a cargo van engulfed in flames and stopped to assist. The individual inside the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Houston Police Department. HPD Lt. R. Wilkins said the body was burnt beyond recognition and police were unable to determine the sex or race of the individual. Officers determined that the cargo van drove into the back of a cement truck traveling along the freeway.

CYPRESS, Texas – A crash involving an 18-wheeler Monday blocked the inbound lanes of U.S. Highway 290 blocked at Mueschke Road. The crash was reported about 12:30 p.m. According to a tweet from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, four other vehicles are also involved in the crash. No life-threatening injuries were reported. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
