HOUSTON – Houston police are investigating a deadly multi-vehicle crash involving a Precinct 4 deputy constable in northwest Houston Monday. Officers said the accident happened around 2 a.m. at 13400 Northwest Freeway when two vehicles collided on the freeway. Investigators said both vehicles spun out of control, then a third vehicle hit one of the spinning cars, which caused the spinning car to hit a guard rail. Investigators said the man went flying and a Precinct 4 deputy constable accidentally crashed into him in the road. It is unclear if the man was killed in the initial crash, the impact of landing in the road or the impact with the deputy.

HOUSTON – Two Houston Police officers were involved in a fatal crash Saturday that killed a 71-year-old man, according to officials. The collision occurred at the intersection of Ley Road and Darien Street in northeast Houston at 3:35 p.m.“It is unfortunate and tragic that the citizen, the other motorist, did not survive the crash,” said Assistant Chief Ben Tien, from HPD patrol Region 1. The two officers were driving westbound on Ley Road en route to a weapon disturbance call when the collision occurred. Witnesses told KPRC 2 the patrol vehicle did not have lights or sirens on at the time of the crash. “HPD is going to hold the file for some period of time longer than normal because of the fatality involved.

HOUSTON – A drone fell on a police car as officers were investigating a fatal crash in southeast Houston. Officers said they were on the scene of a crash on Sunday at around 7:46 p.m. when the incident happened. In the first wreck, police said a motorcyclist was killed after he and a driver crashed into each other on MLK Boulevard and Rapido Road. Detectives were working to determine who was at fault when police said a drone then fell out of the sky and damaged a patrol car. Officers said no one else was hurt and the drone was not involved in the first crash.

HOUSTON – A woman was hit by two vehicles while jumping a barrier in southeast Houston Monday, police said. Officers said the incident happened at around 10:30 p.m. between Scarsdale and the Beltway on Gulf Freeway when a woman jumped the barrier and crossed the main lanes heading west. Police said the woman was hit by two vehicles and died at the scene. According to officers, they are currently unsure of what made the woman jump the barrier.

HOUSTON – Two people were killed and another was critically injured in a crash involving a small transit bus Thursday in Channelview, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. The fatal crash was reported just before noon at 977 Sheldon Road. Gonzalez said the driver of a vehicle may have lost control and spun out in front of the bus before the crash happened. He said the driver and passenger of that vehicle were killed. Gonzalez said a rear passenger of the vehicle was flown to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

HOUSTON – Houston police are investigating a deadly crash that left two people dead, including a three-year-old boy. According to investigators, witnesses said a Buick Park Avenue ran a red light on Lee Road and was struck by a tractor-trailer driving on North Sam Houston Parkway East service road. The Buick then struck a truck and another car parked in front of a gas station. The driver of the Buick was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK. Two passengers, a 25-year-old woman and a 3-year-old boy, were taken to the hospital where they were pronounced dead. The Houston Police Department did not say what the relationship was between the victims.

Police said they received the call at around 3:44 a.m. about an accident in the 10700 block of Fuqua. According to officers, the man appeared to have hit something in the road and crashed into a tree. Police said they are unsure if speed or alcohol was a factor in the crash. No other vehicles were involved and the lanes are currently shut down, officers said.

HOUSTON – Harris County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a vehicle crash they said left one man dead and another man injured in southwest Harris County Monday morning. Deputies said the incident happened at around 1:35 a.m. in the 7500 block of State Highway 6 and Empanada. When deputies arrived at the scene, they said they found one driver, who has been identified as Norberto Mejia, dead in the two-vehicle accident. Deputies said that is when the driver of a white Nissan Altima rear-ended the SUV at a high rate of speed. The SUV ended up in a parking lot further south on Highway 6 due to the impact of the crash, deputies said.

When they arrived at the scene, deputies located a single sedan, Gonzalez said. According to deputies, it appears the sedan left the roadway, striking a fire hydrant and then a fence before flipping and landing near the complex. Family members first thought Mize had once again been arrested for DWI, only to find it was his crash. Residents reported hearing a speeding vehicle before the crash, Gonzalez said. When asked if the woman was involved in the crash, Gonzalez said they are unsure but still investigating the crash.

DAYTON, Texas – Four people were killed in a head-on collision Monday morning along Highway 146 in Liberty County, officials said. Dayton police said a man identified as Blaine Springer, 25, was driving southbound in a Chevrolet Silverado and veered out of his lane and hit a Ford F-250 head-on. Police identified the men in the Ford as Ricardo Martinez, 41, Alfredo Cueller Jr, 40 and 27-year old David Cortes. Alfredo Cuellar (L) was killed along with three other in a crash in Dayton on Feb. 17, 2020. Martinez’s family members told KPRC 2 that Martinez and Cortes were distant relatives and on their way to work when they were killed.

HUMBLE, Texas – Two people have died in a crash after a load of wet cement dropped from a nearby company’s truck in Humble Friday, Harris County deputies said. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the crash happened in the 15700 block of Old Humble Road at around 5:30 a.m. when a cement truck’s load of wet cement spilled on the roadway. Earl is a well-known gospel singer in the Houston area. Gonzalez said it appears the portion of the truck holding the cement was turning the wrong way while the driver was turning the corner. The driver of the cement truck stopped to render aid and has been cooperative with deputies throughout the investigation, Gonzalez said.

HOUSTON – Three people are dead after they were involved in separate traffic incidents across the greater Houston area. Deputies said the person came out of the woods in the area and tried to cross 1960 when he was hit by the first vehicle. Shortly after being hit by the first vehicle, the person was hit by at least one other vehicle. Pasadena – Destani Oliver, 18, was getting ready for her graduation in May. “She was just coming home from school less than two miles from the house and now she is gone,” said Destani’s mother, Charrise Oliver . Charrise says her daughter was driving on Allen Genoa near Crenshaw when a driver heading the other way suddenly veered off and hit Destani’s car head on. Destani’s father, Isaac Oliver, says he was in utter disbelief when he pulled up to the crash scene. Her family says they don't know whether the driver suffered a medical emergency or was possibly under the influence, but they say they want justice.
