People all across Houston are bundling up and prepping their homes ahead of the anticipated cold weather in southeast Texas this week. With a Winter Storm Watch already in place, Houstonians have been advised to be ready for low temperatures, frigid winds, and yes, even some snow.

Experts believe the Texas power grid has improved its resilience since the February 2021 winter storm, but uncertainties remain, especially at the neighborhood level.

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) has issued a Weather Watch for Wednesday, May 8.

Tuesday between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. ERCOT is requesting a conservation appeal.
