Around 8 a.m., the department received a call regarding a reckless driver, who was driving a white car on Interstate 10 in Beaumont. DPS investigators searched the Honda, which is standard procedure after a car crash. Troopers found the body of a woman in the trunk, according to the release. Sunday morning, Houston police were searching a Houston home located in the 4100 block of Maggie St. Police said evidence found inside the car in Beaumont led them to the residence.

According to officers, speeds hit nearly 120 miles per hour during the chase. Police said the suspects eventually started to slow down and the two juveniles ran out of gas on the Gulf Freeway and Monroe. All of the lanes of the freeway were shut down temporarily, but officers quickly moved the scene over to a nearby gas station. Police said both juveniles will be charged with felony evading arrest, but more charges could be added.
