HOUSTON – An investigation is underway after a man died following a crash on the Eastex Freeway eastbound and Beltway 8, officers with the Houston Police Department said.
The crash reportedly happened around 2:49 a.m.
According to HPD, a man in his 40s was traveling on 59 to the Sam Houston Parkway when the man struck a wall. A witness told police that they saw the man get out of the vehicle and he appeared okay at first.
The witness said the driver began to be confrontational with them, so they decided to drive off. The witness then stated they didn’t see the man on the flyover. Emergency crews reportedly located the man on the ground below the flyover, investigators said.
Officers are waiting for the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Police have just reported the feeder lanes going eastbound and the ramp are back open.
