GALVESTON, Texas – Thousands of people will flock to the island this weekend for all the Mardi Gras fun in Galveston.
There will be parades, concerts and more fun to be enjoyed, and this means you’ve got to prepare for a lot of extra traffic, especially on the Gulf Freeway and in and around the island.
Areas of downtown Galveston and along the seawall will be closed during Thursday afternoon at 5 p.m. Plus, it’s the big Super Bowl weekend! We want to remind everyone: No drinking and driving. There will be a lot of fun Super Bowl parties, so it’s important to enjoy responsibly so you can keep yourself and everyone else on the roads safe as well.
