Fatal crash involving SUV, 18-wheeler shuts down some northbound lanes on North Freeway at the N. Hardy Toll Road, HCSO says

HOUSTON – An investigation is underway after a deadly crash involving an 18-wheeler and an SUV on the North Freeway at the N. Hardy Toll Road, Harris County sheriff’s deputies said.

It happened in the 22600 block of the North Freeway.

According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the driver of the SUV died in the crash.

At this time, the southbound/inbound lanes are open. Two of the northbound lanes have reopened, Gonzalez said.

Traffic is being diverted to exit 72.
