For all the sports lovers out there, the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship will be held at NRG Stadium on Monday. Michigan and Washington fans from across the country are expected to celebrate with multiple events leading up to the big day! This means if you have to travel inside the loop this weekend, you can expect crowed roads leading up to the big event and road closures the day of.
According to the City of Houston, here are the street closures you can expect Monday surrounding NRG:
Closed 11 a.m. – 1 a.m.
- Lantern Point from McNee to Murworth
- Murworth from Lantern Point to Kirby
Closed 8 p.m. – 1 a.m.
- Kirby from 610 to Westridge Northbound
Closed 7 p.m. – 1 a.m.
- Kirby from McNee to Murworth
With several family events throughout the weekend, METRORail may be a great option. Game ticket holders will have the opportunity to ride METRORail to the stadium free of charge on Monday. If you decide to take a rideshare like Uber or Lyft, splitting a ride with a friend could bring the cost down! We all know prices tend to go up during big events. Yellow Lots 35 and 38 will be the designated NRG Stadium pick-up/drop-off location for rideshare.
Have a wonderful weekend!
