Summer 2024: When To Fly
Those planning to travel within the United States this summer may notice an increase in the cost of flights by mid-June during the peak travel season. According to Kayak, domestic flights will slowly decline throughout the rest of the summer through July and August. If you haven’t booked just yet, early June will be your best bet. Wondering how you can save?
Here are a few travel tips:
- Consider purchasing airfare 28 days before departure
- Budget for more than expected
- Check credit card travel benefits and offers
- Compare prices between hotels and overnight stays
Weekend Closure
While many of us are preparing for summer travel, the Texas Department of Transportation will continue to work hard on Houston roads. This weekend crews will close the I-10 eastbound lanes at Mercury Drive for asphalt repairs. The work will start at 9 p.m. Sunday and continue through Monday at 5 a.m. Keep in mind, that law enforcement will be onsite to help direct traffic. Those traveling on the east side should consider alternate routes.
Stay cool & have a great weekend!
