Senate Bill 990: Proposed Changes to the Death Penalty for Child Murder Cases
A new bill, Senate Bill 990, could change the death penalty laws for child murder cases in Texas. Currently, those who kill children aged 10 to 15 are exempt from the death penalty. This bill, filed by Senator Paul Bettencourt, seeks to remove that exemption. Reporter Corley Peel is live in Austin for today’s hearing, where supporters, including Crimestoppers of Houston and Alexis Nungaray, will be present.
