Tonight’s Forecast:
It is going to be a great evening tonight with mostly cloudy skies and temperatures staying mild in the lower-70s. We will have gusty winds from the south at 15-20mph gusting to 25mph.
Saturday’s Forecast:
The much-anticipated cold front moves in tomorrow. Before the front gets here temperatures climb to the 80s! The cold front hits our northern cities late in the afternoon, Houston around 6pm, and our coast at 8pm.
We have a chance of getting severe weather as the front moves through. The severe weather threat is dependent on an inversion, or CAP, over the atmosphere. If the CAP breaks, we’ll get severe weather in the form of strong winds. If the CAP doesn’t break, we’ll get rain and strong inconvenient winds.
Thankfully there is no flood threat.
Winds are gusty tonight, tomorrow and early Sunday. Bring in your inflatable Christmas decorations, they could get blown away from these strong winds.
There is a Gale Watch in place for Saturday evening into Sunday morning because of the strong winds. This means if you’re headed to the Christmas Boat Parade you need to be extra careful! Boats can capsize easily in strong winds.
Cooler Weather:
Temperatures will go from the 80s on Saturday to the 40s Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon we will stay chilly with afternoon highs in the upper-50s. The coolest air will have settled by Monday morning when we expect our morning low temperatures to be in the 30s. This is the third time this season we will be waking up in the 30s so make sure you plan to bundle up!
10-Day forecast:
Temperatures will take a tumble Saturday into Sunday. The cooler air will stay with us through next week with lows in the 30s and 40s and highs in the 60s.
