Today’s forecast:
A cold front sweeps through southest Texas late tonight. We have been tracking some pre-frontal showers. There is no severe weather threat, but street flooding is possible during the overnight hours as the front arrives. The latest timing has the strongest storms arriving in our western and northern cities after 7pm. It hits Houston around midnight and will be along the coast between 2am and 3am.

We’re rain-free in Houston when we wake up Saturday morning, but there could be storms along the coast. By 9am all of us are dry for the rest of the weekend. Rain totals for most of us will be between .50″-1.00″ but could go up to 2″-3″ if we get training.
Saturday’s Forecast:
Saturday will start with mostly cloudy skies. Through the day we will see the skies clear leaving us with a sunny afternoon! Because our storms come from a Pacific front, we won’t get a drastic drop in temperatures. Saturday is dry, chilly, and breezy with highs in the 50s. Winds will be from the north at 10 to 15 mph, and gusts as high as 25 mph.
Sunday’s Forecast:
Sunday will be wonderful! It will be sunny with high temperatures in the mid-60s. Winds will be light from the north.
Next Week:
We will start off next week with beautiful weather! Highs will be in the 60s and 70s with dry skies. Tuesday will be a bit cooler due to extra cloud
10-Day forecast:
The official start to Winter (the solstice) is on Thursday at 9:27PM. We will start off the winter season with an unsettled weather pattern. This unfortunately means right now we do have rain showers in the forecast for Christmas Eve and Christmas. It is still ten days out, which means our timeline can change. Regardless, if you’re hosting for the holidays I’d come up with some indoor activities that your guests can do while showers pass. My family likes to make homemade ornaments for our Christmas tree.
