Tonight’s forecast:
Temperatures will drop tonight into the mid-30s. Although we will not freeze, it will be very chilly so bundle up!
Saturday’s forecast:
Saturday is delightful! After a cold start in the 30s we’ll warm to the mid-60s. This would be a great day to prepare for our hard freeze expected early next week.
Sunday’s forecast:
Our next cold front arrives Sunday morning. This is our first blast of arctic air since December of 2022. Temperatures are in the 40s all day Sunday. If you are running in the Chevron Houston Marathon, it’s going to be tough. The last half of the run will have head and cross winds of 10-15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.
MLK Day Monday:
Cold air continues to funnel in Monday. The MLK Day Parade is going to be bitterly cold. Temperatures don’t get out of the 30s. This is also the day we’ll get precipitation. The best chance of getting sleet and freezing rain is in our northern cities. Houston has a 20% chance of getting freezing rain Monday. If this happens it would create an absolute dangerous mess on the roads. If temperatures remain in the mid and upper-30s we’ll get a cold rain. We’ll keep you posted on this very important forecast element.
Tuesday morning temperatures:
After Thursday’s 70s, temperatures only manage to make it to the 50s and 60s through the weekend. Good news for those headed to the Texans and the Houston Marathon, you can expect sunshine.
Wednesday morning temperatures:
The coldest air arrives Wednesday morning. These kind of temperatures will burst exposed pipes that aren’t protected.
10-Day forecast:
We get out of the 30s Wednesday afternoon. We’re tracking another cold front Friday of next week. This will bring more freezing temperatures next weekend.
