What a soggy day!⛈️ See how much it rained across the Houston area Monday (KPRC 2)

HOUSTON – Houstonians experienced a pretty drenched day as heavy rain fell across the area Monday.

According to KPRC 2 meteorologist and reporter Daji Aswad, today’s rain is just the start of multiple rounds of showers that will continue through midweek. Some areas could see the three-day rain total reach 4 to 8 inches. With daily rain, be sure to watch for street flooding and ponding.

Some areas already exceed an inch in rainfall. North and west of Houston is where the heaviest rain has fallen. The Harris County Flood Warning System reports 2 - 4 inches from Prairie View to Katy and near Mission Bend.

Bay City: 1″

Brenham: 3″

Conroe: 0.9″

Cypress: 2.74″

Galveston: 1.2″

Hobby Airport: 1.07″

Katy: 3.04″

Mission Bend: 2″

Pasadena: 1.2″

Victoria: 1.6″

Waller: 3″

Heaviest rain fell north and west of Houston.

We will continue to see these numbers rise on Tuesday and Wednesday as more waves of rain and even a few embedded thunderstorms move through. Tuesday rain forecasted to be focused north of I-10, while Wednesday more widespread activity across all of SE Texas.
