Dry start Friday:
Friday morning, expect a mix of sun and clouds, but as the day goes on, clouds increase ahead of a cold front that will trigger showers and storms Friday night. If you are going to Galveston for Mardi Gras events, you can’t rule out a few showers; otherwise, scattered showers and storms arrive after midnight. Temperatures remain mild despite the increase in cloud cover.
Friday night storms:
Tomorrow evening showers and thunderstorms start off spotty and then turn more scattered through Friday night. There are a few waves that push through before the main line moves into SE Texas. The concern is we have a severe weather threat as well as a flood threat Friday night to Saturday morning.
Saturday morning storms:
The heaviest rain and strongest thunderstorms move through SE Texas early Saturday morning. Rain totals range from 1″-4″ and because of our saturated grounds we are susceptible to more flooding. Areas that flooded last week need to pay close attention Saturday morning to see how you are holding up. All of us also have a severe weather threat. Damaging winds and a tornado or two forming are the main threats. By late morning all the storms move east. The rest of the weekend is dry and breezy.
10-Day forecast:
Because the cold front Saturday is from the Pacific, the drop in temperatures next week is slight. Our next chance of rain is Friday of next week.
