Tonight’s Forecast:
Today was a warm one with high of 79, making it the hottest day of the year so far. Tonight staying warm with lows in the 60s. Rain chances are low, a few isolated light showers possible overnight as storms will move in from the coast.
Watch for Fog!
The biggest issue for early Saturday morning will be fog because of the amount of moisture reducing visibility especially along the coast and most inland areas through sunrise Saturday.
Placement is key for the rain Saturday:
Starting early Saturday morning our rain chances ramp up. The track of where these storms will set up will determine who sees more than an inch of rain and those that will only see scattered, lighter showers through the morning.
Whether you are head to Mardi Gras or Chinese Lunar New Year celebrations rain chances will dwindle through Saturday afternoon and evening in Houston.
Cold front moves through Sunday:
More rain is expected Sunday morning. The front is on the move and heads south in the afternoon. It will be off the coast in the evening for Super Bowl so your party plans should be rain-free!
As the front passes through it will bring a low chance for severe weather, mainly for our northern counties. Rainfall totals will definitely depend on where Saturday’s track sets up. Those areas could see anywhere from 1-3″, while other spots will see less than an inch.
Most of the rainfall on Sunday looks to be in the morning, which would dry us out for any Super Bowl parties!
Valentine’s Forecast:
We will not be breaking any hearts with our Valentine’s Forecast! It looks to be mostly sunny with highs in the mid-60s.
10-Day forecast:
The colder air is back next week. Monday’s high is in the 50s with mornings back in the 40s. Our next chance of rain is at the end of next week.
