The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Madison, Houston, Trinity, Walker, San Jacinto, Polk, Burleson, Brazos, Washington, Grimes Montgomery, Colorado and Waller counties through 4AM Sunday morning.
We are expecting numerous heavy showers and storms late this afternoon through the overnight hours. Widespread rainfall totals will be 2-4″ with isolated locations seeing higher amounts where training of showers and storms occur.
We have already seen several showers and thunderstorms north of I-10. These storms will become more widespread as we continue through the afternoon with the strongest storms expected after sunset. Houston will likely see the strongest storms around 2AM Sunday morning.
We could get rain off and on throughout the day, but the main line of strong thunderstorms arrives around 9:00 p.m. Flooding is possible, with 2″ to 4″ of rain falling in a short amount of time. We also have a severe weather threat with hail and damaging winds possible.

Sunday’s Forecast:
Tracking the chance for early morning storms possible early Sunday morning, but the rest of the day is dry! Our morning will start off in the 50s. We will have gusty winds from the NE with highs only reaching the upper-60s. Humidity will be dropping.

Earth Day looks wonderful with temperatures in the mid-70s and low humidity!
10-Day Forecast:
Sunday’s front lowers morning temperatures to the 50s early next week. We’ll also get a nice humidity drop, which will make it feel crisp in the morning Monday and Tuesday. Mild high temperatures are short lived, only with us Sunday and Monday.
