Tornado Watch:
A tornado watch is in place for our farthest northwest counties. Burleson and Lee Counties are under the watch through 10PM this evening.
The storms that could reach Lake Somerville are moving in from the I-35 corridor. Check out live radar below.
As the storms push to the east they are expected to strengthen. If the storms hold together, the timeline for storms from Huntsville to Brenham looks to be around 9PM, but most of the storms will taper off after sunset.
Tonight’s Forecast:
Tonight we will have yet another abnormally warm evening! Temperatures will only drop to the mid-70s by Thursday morning. We have hazy conditions due to some smoke that has moved in from fires in Central America.
Thursday’s Forecast:
Thursday will be much like we saw today with highs in the upper-80s to near 90 but feeling like 100. Storm chances ramp up in the evening, mainly from 7PM-midnight.
Thursday Night:
Our cold front finally arrives Thursday night into Friday morning. Our northern cities have a severe weather threat but the chance of rain in Houston is only at 20% overnight.
Mother’s Day Weekend:
Behind the front we will have a much more comfortable weekend with low humidity, lows in the 60s and highs in the lower-80s. Saturday looks great! Storm chances will increase into the afternoon Sunday.
10-Day Forecast:
The one thing we’re watching next week is the possibility of a stalled trough of low pressure getting stuck near southeast Texas. This would be similar to the weather pattern we had last week. It’s too far out to know if the low stalls so for now I’m going with a chance of rain Monday through Thursday.
