Current Radar:
Check out our current radar below. Heavy bands have moved inland from the coast and should drift westward, away from the area through the overnight hours.
Tropical Storm Warning:
Winds along the coast can gust up to 50mph. Most of the coastal counties will remain under Tropical Storm Warnings through early Thursday morning.
Flood Watch:
Tropical Outlook:
Tropical Storm Alberto, the first name of hurricane season, will continue to move westward towards the central Mexican coastline near Tampico overnight.
The center of the storm will stay to the south, making landfall in Mexico.
Regardless of formation, our impacts are the same. We will see gusty winds to 30mph, rough seas, high rip currents and a flood threat. We can expect to see rainfall tapering off early Thursday but coastal flooding will continue through Thursday morning.
Rest of the week:
Thursday will get back to a more typical summer forecast: Hot, sticky and humid. We’ll see a few scattered afternoon storms leftover from the overall flow of Alberto as it moves into Mexico. The weekend will be hot and mostly rain free aside from a few afternoon pop-up storms each afternoon.
10-Day Forecast:
Early week’s tropical downpours will keep temperatures in the 80s. Rain chances will drop over the weekend but we stay in a wet pattern along the Gulf Coast next week.
