Tonight’s Forecast:
Rain is finally weakening with only a light shower left over from what was a tough day for some of us.
Tuesday’s Forecast:
The phrase “when it rains, it pours” applies this week thanks to tropical moisture. Any shower can drop several inches of rain in a short amount of time and, like Monday, lead to flood advisories and flood warnings. It looks like rain will start in the morning along the coast and move north.
All of southeast Texas has a flood threat.
Wednesday’s Forecast:
No changes Wednesday. Heavy widespread rain will fall throughout all of southeast Texas. The rich tropical moisture gives us another threat of flooding.
Thursday & Friday’s Forecast:
The stalled front that is responsible for our flood threat is still here Thursday and Friday. While the flood threat isn’t as high, it is still present. Don’t let your guard down.
The stalled front mixing with tropical moisture brings waves of rain and thunderstorms. In general we’ll receive another 3″-5″ of rain through the next five days. Street flooding is possible in the morning or afternoon.
Tracking the tropics:
There is no tropical activity in the Gulf, Caribbean or Atlantic Ocean. The Saharan dust has been very heavy across much of the tropical Atlantic and that is keeping things very quiet.
10-day Forecast:
We stay in this active storm pattern through the week. Stay weather aware and make sure you have extra time for driving. The increase in rain means lower than normal temperatures. 95° is our average this time of year.
