Hottest Week All Year:

Although we’ve experienced high heat, we have only hit 100 one time this year. This week we will climb to the triple-digits several days. Along the Red River we will see temperatures up to 105! Dallas and OKC will easily top 103 degrees Wednesday and Thursday.

Tracking the tropics:

Monday morning Debby made landfall in Steinhatchee, Florida as a Category 1 hurricane with 80 mph winds. Debby is now a Tropical Storm but is still bringing heavy rainfall to the SE Coast. Check out the current radar in Florida below.

Tropical Storm Debby’s slow speed is expected to bring catastrophic flooding this week over southeastern US over the next few days. Debby may bring 15-20 inches of rain to some areas on the coast line depending on how slow Debby moves along the South Carolina coastline. Check out this pin from our sister station in Jacksonville.

Another tropical wave is developing in the Atlantic. It has a 30% chance of developing over the next 7 days. There is so much uncertainty with this system. If it enters the Gulf of Mexico that would likely not be until Sunday the 11th. We are watching this system close. For now there is nothing to worry about. Keep checking in on this forecast through the week.

10-day Forecast:

Our forecast over the next 10-days will be dominated by heat and humidity. Highs will be in the 100s thanks to a strong high pressure system and winds coming from the west.
