Monday’s Forecast:
HOUSTON – Carry the umbrella on Monday as rain chances will be widely scattered. Monday morning, coastal spotty showers. Afternoon hours, rain moves north of I-10, becoming more scattered and widespread through the afternoon. By the evening, the chances of rain die down.
Storms could bring heavy downpours, with the heaviest likely along the coast. On average, most areas pick up .25″, but if you are closer to the coast, you could see heavier downpours pushing rain totals to an inch or more. Be mindful of ponding on roads.
Temperatures are not as hot, highs in the low to mid-90s.

Tracking The Tropics:
No tropical activity is expected in the next 7-days in the Atlantic. The next named storm will be Francine, but this is not likely within the next seven days.
10-day Forecast:
After a mostly rain free August, the last week of the month comes with daily shower and storm chances. The soggy set-up will help temperatures drop to the low 90s.
If you’re seeking out cooler weather, we do expect a gradual cooling in the month of September. Our average high drops to 88° by the end of the month. Our average low drops to 67° - thank goodness!
Even though we expect our temperatures to cool seasonally, the Climate Prediction Center expects most of the United States to be above average through the month. As a reminder our latest 100° day was September 27th after Hurricane Rita.
