HOUSTON – This past weekend, it was beautiful in Houston - with seasonable temperatures and low humidity. In fact, more than 9,000 people spent time outdoors picking pumpkins and strawberries at Froberg’s Vegetable & Fruit Farm in Alvin Texas alone.

But thanks to a high-pressure system, we’ll be in the upper 80s for the rest of the week. We’ll continue to track above-average temperatures for the rest of the week. The good news? Despite the heat, we will at least get to wake up and enjoy cooler mornings in the 60s. If you’re thinking it’s been a HOT-tober, you’d be correct! It’s the 4th hottest October on record, tied with our temps in 1962. The good news? While we will continue to track above-average temperatures for next week, we are watching for a slight chance of a cold front as we start November.

This as we continue to track a lack of rain in Houston. As of today, It’s been 28 days without rain and 46 days without a significant amount of rain - which is considered .25″ or more. And despite the fact that it’s been a really wet year in Galveston - it’s still considered dry. We will track the potential chance for rain next week, but we are still expecting to have above-average temperatures and humidity next week.

And for those of you wondering, when we will have more seasonable temperatures are on the way - according to the NOAA the winter outlook predicting 70-80% chance for above average temperatures and 40 to 60% chance for below-normal precipitation. This means the holiday season is expected to be dry and warm.
