HOUSTON, Texas – The Texans signed veteran linebacker Devin White to the active roster with starting linebackers Azeez Al-Shaair and Henry To’oTo’o sidelined with injuries.

White is a former Pro Bowl selection who was selected fifth overall out of LSU in 2019 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

White, 26, (6-foot, 237 pounds), has recorded 566 career tackles, 23 sacks, six forced fumbles, nine fumble recoveries and three interceptions. He has run the 40-yard dash in 4.42 seconds.

Signed in March to a one-year, $7.5 million contract by the Philadelphia Eagles, White was ultimately released after failing to win a starting job and never playing any regular season snaps.

White had a career-high nine sacks and 140 tackles in 2020.

Al-Shaair remains sidelined with a knee injury and To’oTo’o is in the NFL concussion protocol.
