Today’s Forecast:
We have rain chances increasing tonight with temperatures falling through the mid-50s.
Wednesday’s Rainfall:
We are tracking a coastal low coupled with a warm front that will ramp up our rain chances for Wednesday. The system is moving in from the south and will first bring chances for sprinkles and light showers to start the day but picking up around 9 am with the chance for heavier rain in the afternoon into the evening.
By the afternoon the warm front will have passed through leaving our area warm, breezy, humid and with decent rain chances. The tropical moisture streaming up from the Gulf will bring the possibility of some heavier downpours at times.
Right now it looks to mainly be showers but it is certainly possible we could see some thunderstorms, of which a few could be on the stronger side. For now the Storm Prediction Center does not have us under a risk for severe storms.
Wet roads will be possible through most of the day so plan on extra time on the roads. Widespread we can expect to see anywhere from half an inch to potentially 2″+ with a thunderstorm.
Thursday rain chances will drop off but clouds will stick around.
Rain comes back in the picture this weekend into early next week. Over the next 5 days SE Texas could see 2 - 4 inches of rain. The heaviest of the rain near the coast and east of Houston.
