Despite flooding concerns across South Texas, the late-week rain will help Corpus Christi, which is experiencing a severe drought. The drought is so Corpus Christi is under water restrictions that limit watering for lawns, gardens and cars. Lake Corpus is also a reflection of the consistent dry conditions - the lake only 20% full.

Houston is not in a drought but surrounding communities like Huntsville, College Station and El Campo are under some type of drought conditions. While Huntsville might miss the most of the good soaking rain, other communities across SE Texas could see at least 2 inches of rain through Saturday.
