The San Jacinto River Authority told KPRC 2 that because of the rain crews have released water from Lake Conroe. But at the west fork, the high water isn't just from the release -- there was a traffic jam brought on by the intersection of several creeks.
The good news is the water is beginning to recede.
Forecasters said the west fork is nearing crest and will begin slowly falling by Monday evening. The east fork is expected to crest sometime late Tuesday and remain in minor flood stage through Friday afternoon.
