HOUSTON – At least two children were arrested Thursday night, authorities say, following a chase with a stolen car in west Houston that ended with one of the young ones dead and at least two others on the run.

It happened around 10 p.m., according to Assistant Chief J.L. Anderson with Houston PD. That’s when officers first saw the speeding vehicle crashing into another car on Richmond. Officers tried pulling the vehicle over, but the driver kept on going, so a chase ensued.
During the chase, the drivers in the speeding vehicle, which was later revealed to be stolen, crashed into another car before ending up on Westheimer, where the driver crashed into 3 other vehicles.
Four young children inside the stolen car, then got out and tried to make a run for it. Police were able to capture two of them, and when officers went to check on the stolen vehicle, and found another young boy in the backseat, unresponsive.
They rushed the child to a hospital, where investigators say he died from his injuries. The two other children that were detained also suffered minor injuries, Asst. Chief Anderson said, so they were taken to the hospital as well.

Meanwhile, Asst. Chief Anderson noted, of the several vehicles that the children crashed into, none of the individuals suffered injuries.
We’re told all the children are between 12-13 years old. Two remain on the run and none of them have been identified, as of this writing, but an investigation remains underway.
