A pedestrian was killed in a late-night crash on the 5400 block of Selinsky Road in Southeast Houston, according to Houston police. The incident occurred around 10:20 p.m. Friday when a vehicle struck the pedestrian, who was sitting on the curb in a poorly lit area.

Both the northbound and southbound lanes are closed as a result, so authorities are asking drivers to avoid the area and use Hwy 6 and Hwy 3 as alternative routes since heavy delays are expected.
