HOUSTON – Krispy Kreme's return to Houston will need a little more time in the oven.
The grand opening for the first of many new doughnut shops in Houston was scheduled for Tuesday, but was delayed. The company's website has changed the date to TBA.
According to the Houston Business Journal, the Krispy Kreme along Highway 6 near West Little York Road is now expected to open in late April or May. Sources attributed the delay to the large number of building permits awaiting approval.
Good news for cord-cutters. The Dish Network's new Sling TV is adding a premium pay TV option for subscribers. The Internet TV streaming service is teaming up with Epix, which launched in 2009 as a joint venture between Viacom, MGM and Lionsgate. Earlier this month, the basic level service added AMC, which is home to hit shows like "Mad Men," "The Walking Dead" and "Better Call Saul."
The service costs $20 and right now, subscribers who pay for three months up front can get a free Amazon Fire TV stick, a Roku TV stick or $50 toward boxes from either of those services.
While Valentine's Day is over, many customers of wire service florists are still livid over the quality of their arrangements. Many have turned to Twitter for answers and to post pictures of their less than stellar floral displays from companies like 1-800-Flowers and Florists' Transit Delivery.
