HOUSTON – Sundance Head, of Porter, Texas was named the winner of season 11 of "The Voice" on Tuesday.
Three performances by Head on “The Voice” were in the top 10 iTunes downloads.
He was one of the final four contestants on the NBC singing competition television show, and many thought from the beginning that he was a serious contender for winning it all.

Viewers were able to vote in several different ways to determine the winner. Votes were counted through text message, the show’s app, Facebook page and website, and via iTunes sales.

Head’s performances of “Darlin’ Don’t Go” was the top-downloaded song on iTunes by noon Tuesday, among the remaining contestants.

His rendition of “At Last” was number two, and his version of “Treat Her Right,” which was a duet with mentor Blake Shelton, was in seventh place.
Head’s nearest competition was Billy Gillman, whose performances of “Because of Me” and “My Way” were in third and fourth place.
The winner was announced during the finale of “The Voice,” which aired on Channel 2 at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Sundance Head has a busy schedule ahead. He will be in Los Angeles Wednesday to make appearances on Entertainment Tonight and Access Hollywood. After that, it's off to New York for the Today Show on Thursday.
Head heads back to Texas over the weekend and will perform the National Anthem at Sunday's Texans-Jaguars game at NRG Stadium.
When it's all said and done, Head says he wants to start making music with someone else’s money and rest and relax with family.
