Bucket List (KPRC 2 / Click2Houston)

HOUSTON – 2023 is the year to live your best life! I’ve always loved bucket lists because they inspire me to go on adventures and live fully. It’s one thing to dream about everything I’d like to do, but writing down bucket list things holds me accountable. Bucket lists can include major accomplishments, small pleasures in life, and everything in between. It’s good for our well-being to have a north star, and bucket lists give us something positive (and uplifting) to focus on.

To help you brainstorm and prioritize all the different bucket list ideas below, here are some quick tips that might be helpful:

  • Think big! Don’t limit yourself to small or practical ideas. Your bucket list is a chance to dream big and push yourself out of your comfort zone.
  • Don’t be afraid to get creative. Your bucket list doesn’t have to be traditional or conventional. It can include unconventional or offbeat ideas that reflect your unique interests and personality.
  • Make it personal. Your bucket list should reflect your values, goals, and passions. Don’t worry about what others think or try to conform to societal expectations.
  • Be open to new experiences. Your bucket list is a chance to try new things and step out of your comfort zone. Don’t be afraid to experiment and be open to new ideas.
  • Seek inspiration. Look for inspiration from friends, family, books, movies, and other sources. Don’t be afraid to ask for suggestions or borrow ideas from others.
  • Prioritize your goals. Decide which items on your list are most important to you and set goals for when you want to accomplish them. This will help you stay focused and motivated.
  • Have fun and enjoy the journey. Remember, the purpose of a bucket list is to have fun and enjoy life to the fullest. Don’t stress about completing everything on your list or worry about perfection. Just have fun and make the most of every moment.

Sometimes our bucket list items seem a little out of reach or expensive. Here are some money saving hacks:

  • Utilize Google flights. Google has a great feature called Google flights that allows you to see prices from multiple the airlines in one place. If you aren’t sure of where you want to go you can use the explore feature and it will give you prices all over the world according to when you want to fly.
  • Check out Skiplagged. Even with Google fights, ticket prices can get expensive. Skiplagged allows you to book flights that have your destination as a layover and may be a cheaper option, this is also called a β€œhidden city ticket.”
  • Open a Hotels.com account. With Hotels.com you accumulate free nights no matter what brand of hotel you stay at. Every 10 nights earns you a free one!
  • Sign up for Groupon. Groupon is a service that can save you money through the use of virtual coupons. You can everything from skydiving to all-inclusive stays to spa packages, all at a discounted price!

Ready to make your bucket list a reality? The first step is to write it down.
