A man and a woman were found dead Tuesday in an apparent murder-suicide in northwest Harris County.
The incident happened just after 11:30 a.m. in the 10200 block of Crooksway Court. Deputies identify the victims as Gary Schwintz, 66, and Becky Schwintz, 60.
Harris County sheriff's deputies said they received a call from an old co-worker of Gary Schwintz.
"They found the two deceased in the office area of the house with gunshot wounds," Sgt. Collier said.
A son of the Schwintzes hadn't heard from them in two days and called the co-worker to check on them. That co-worker and another person saw the back door was unlocked. The discovered the bodies inside.
"There's no sign of intrusion," Collier said. "No history of violence from this residence. We have no indication of why this occurred."
Neighbors are in shock. John Callahan said he didn't know the couple very well, but he said they "seemed like a decent couple."
Deputies continue to investigate.
