HOUSTON – A third person has been arrested in a woman's murder, and investigators said the suspect had a sexual relationship with the victim's daughter.
Harris County sheriff's deputies said Mary Ann Murphy, 48, was stabbed to death at her home on Poplar Ridge Lane in north Harris County in July.
Investigators said Murphy's 16-year-old daughter initially told them that two men broke into the home and attacked her mother as she slept.
Zein Ahmed, 20, was later arrested and charged in the killing. Detectives said Ahmed claimed he didn't break in but was let inside by the 16-year-old.
Deputies said their investigation into phone calls and text messages led them to Rebecca Keller, 20. She was recently arrested and charged with murder and sexual assault of a child.
Keller had a sexual relationship with the 16-year-old, investigators said.
Prosecutors said Keller does not have any apparent connection to Ahmed.
The 16-year-old was previously arrested and charged in connection with her mother's death.
