HCSO: 3 deputies fired for having sex in patrol cars

HOUSTON – Three deputies were fired from the Harris County Sheriff's Office for improper conduct that involved consensual sex, according to officials.

A sheriff's spokesman said Monday that Robert Johnson, Michael Medina and Adam Wright were terminated from District 3. The spokesman said all of them were fired for improper conduct that involved consensual sex in the deputies' patrol cars.

The Office confirmed that the woman involved with the three deputies is with the Citizens Police Academy, a group separate from the sheriff's office. A source told KPRC Local 2 that the woman, who is married, had consensual sex with the deputies while they were on duty.

The source said the woman is married to a volunteer with the Harris County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff's office said, "the three deputies were asked to submit to counseling when it was believed they were involved in an extra-marital affair outside of work. But when it was learned that the activities took place during work hours, they were fired."

The department issued the following statement.

"The Harris County Sheriff's Office holds all of its employees to the highest of standards, as should the citizens. Employees are expected to act in a professional and responsible manner at all times. Any employee whose conduct discredits and dishonors the Sheriff's Office and the uniform he/she wears will be disciplined accordingly. Improper conduct of any kind will not be tolerated."

District 3 covers the northeast side of Harris County.
