HOUSTON – A Cy-Fair ISD middle school student is being punished after bringing a firearm on campus, according to the school's principal.
Campus administrators were informed of the firearm being brought on campus of Watkins Middle School by two students on Wednesday.

The weapon was immediately confiscated and the student was removed from campus. According to the principal, the student will be disciplined according to the Student Code of Conduct.
In a statement released by Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District, officials informed parents that safety is their number one priority.
"The district takes matters like this very seriously and the students who made the report are to be commended for acting quickly and notifying administrators. Communication with administrators was instrumental in allowing us to take immediate action in resolving this situation.
