Police: Man who killed woman may have fled to Mexico

HOUSTON – Houston police are searching for the man accused of killing a woman in the parking lot of the Mekano Live Club on Richmond near Ocee Street on Jan. 26.

Investigators charged Emilio Angel Cervantes-Gonzales with murder. They say he shot Yasmin Arzola Ortiz, after getting into an argument with another man inside the club. Investigators have not said if Ortiz was involved in that argument, or if she was an innocent bystander.

Emergency crews transported Ortiz to the hospital in critical condition after the shooting. Several days later she died.

Houston police say Cervantes-Gonzales had left the Houston area and his whereabouts are unknown at this time. Police do suspect that he may have fled to Mexico. He was last seen driving a green Hummer with Texas license plates CKF8760.
