HOUSTON – Police are hoping newly released surveillance photos will help them identify the people wanted in connection to a deadly shooting at a southwest Houston game room.
Houston police say a security guard was shot dead during what investigators are calling a suspected robbery.
It happened at around 12:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon at the Lucky Star Game Room in the 10300 block of Bissonnet.
Houston police say three men and two women were inside playing games when something happened, they got up and confronted the security guard.
At least two shots were fired.
The guard, identified as 53-year-old Rueben Portillo, was shot in the head. He was rushed to Ben Taub General Hospital where he later died.
Police say the security guard's gun is missing.
The men robbed the other people inside the gaming room before all five people left and drove off in a silver two-door Honda Accord and red Nissan Sentra with tinted windows and a rear spoiler.
While homicide detectives are investigating, anyone with information on the whereabouts or identities of any of these suspects is asked to call the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
