Brazoria County man fatally shot in front yard

BRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas – The Brazoria County Sheriff's Office is investigating a murder that happened around 6:30 p.m. on the 600 block of Johnston Drive in Rosharon.

The victim has been identified as Warren Fields IV, 39, of Rosharon. He worked as a software engineer and has no previous criminal history.

Officials say they found Fields in his front yard with a gunshot wound to the head. Investigators say two black men arrived at Fields' house in a pearl white Lexus with dark tinted windows. One of the men made contact with Fields and waited for him to come outside before shooting him in the head once, according to the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office.

There is no known motive at this time, authorities say. The suspect is described as a black man who is about 5 feet 11 to 6 feet 1 inches tall, weighs about 250 pounds and was wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans. Authorities say there is no description of the other man who remained in the car.
