Man accused of killing puppy for pooping in his yard

HOUSTON – A southeast Houston man is facing animal cruelty charges after he shot and killed a neighbor's puppy with a pellet gun, said the Houston Police Department.

It happened on the 4200 block of Walker Street on Tuesday.

Police said Jessico Ramirez, 19, shot the dog because it pooped in his yard.

Ramirez admitted to it to KPRC 2 on camera.

"He was pooping all over the yard so I had to shoot him," said Ramirez. "I don't feel bad."

The puppy's owner, Noe Torres, said he was out of town when the incident happened.

He owned the dog for six months before it was killed.

"It was sad. That was my best friend. It was the only thing I ever came home to," said Torres.

According to Torres, this isn't the first time Ramirez has shot a neighborhood animal.

"I had a pellet gun so I shoot every animal that came around here," said Ramirez.

Ramirez was charged with cruelty to a non-livestock animal. He posted a $1,000 bond.
