BAYTOWN, Texas – Two drivers were airlifted to the hospital Tuesday morning after a major crash in Baytown. Investigators say one of the drivers was traveling the wrong way on a highway.
According to Baytown police, a man was traveling the wrong way on Highway 146 at W. Main around 2:30 a.m. when he slammed head-on into a woman traveling northbound in a white van.
"The driver saw the vehicle and at the very last minute she tried to swerve and was unable to avoid the collision, said Lt. Richard Whitaker, Baytown Police Department.
Both drivers were taken to the hospital in critical condition.
