HOUSTON – A circus performer's stunt goes horribly wrong in front of an audience filled with children in north Houston.
John Garcia and his wife Vicki Garcia are trained circus acrobats with a Mexican traveling circus called El Circo Hermanos Vasquez.
During their flying performance, an equipment malfunction dropped Vicki 25 feet from the high wire.
In the stunt, Garcia is supposed to hang from her hair as the acrobats movie in circles above the floor. The performers lost their grip and she plunged to the floor. Video footage caught the dramatic fall and audience's terrorized screams.
According to the circus, Garcia suffered only minor injuries and is expected to be okay.
The Garcias' performance is canceled until Vicki recovers.
