HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A Precinct 5 constable found himself on the wrong side of the law after a woman made sexual misconduct allegations against him.
The deputy constable could face jail-time for allegedly using his position of authority to have sex with an unidentified female.
The deputy is now being investigated by the Harris County Sheriff's Department.
He has since been fired, not for the new accusations, instead for what officials called "policy violations related to untruthfulness."
The Sheriff's Office has not explained how the deputy was untruthful on the job.
A press release sent out by the Sheriff's Office said in part, "The deputy's conduct is not representative of the men and women of the Precinct 5 Constable's Office, who serve the citizens of Harris County."
The Sheriff's Office said the deputy's identity will not be released until criminal charges are filed.
