HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – David Conley, the man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend, her husband and six children, has been transferred from the Harris County Jail to a hospital.
Deputies said Conley was taken to an area medical facility due to a pre-existing medical condition that is non life-threatening.
Sources told KPRC 2 that Conley was on suicide watch when he was first taken into custody over the weekend after the eight bodies were found.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office said Friday it has no intention to launch an internal investigation into the actions of deputies who made four trips to the home where eight people were murdered but waited 11 hours before entering.
"There was no probable cause for them to enter the home before that point," Deputy Tom Gilliland said.
That point was when deputies saw a bleeding child on the floor, through a window, late Saturday.
"It's ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous. How much more information do you need than 'I am being held at gunpoint in my own home,'" Randy Burton, a former Harris County assistant district attorney, said.
Burton now runs the nonprofit group, Justice for Children.
The 911 calls do not appear to have originated from the home but from family members in at least one other state.
"Justice for Children is making a formal request to Harris County Judge Ed Emmett for an independent investigation into the events surrounding the complete failure of the Harris County System of governmental agencies to protect the lives of the Jackson children," Burton said.
Burton specifically wants the Harris County Sheriff's Office, Harris County Child Protective Services and Harris County Judge Glenn Devlin to release records concerning the Jackson Family.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office published a detailed timeline of events a day earlier.
It shows that the Sheriff's Office received six 911 calls that day and made four trips to the home.
It appears the deputies waited more than 11 hours from their first arrival at the northwest Harris County home to enter.
