HOUSTON – A Facebook post showing multiple pictures of the Shipley Donuts on Tidwell near Homestead has been shared more than 1,000 times.
The pictures were taken after closing time and show dozens of donuts left sitting out overnight.

The poster said "It saddens my heart to know that... we are being fed left over trash ...that could very well be damaging to our health."
When consumer expert Amy Davis shared the photos with the Houston Health Department.
An inspector opened an investigation and concluded, after stopping by the business, that the "donuts are not sold from overnight."
A manager told him what he told Channel 2 News when we showed up with a camera at 5 a.m. He said the night shift leaves the left over donuts for the morning manager to count before they're discarded. It lets them know if they're making too many of a certain kind and that all of the donuts are accounted for. The complaint was not confirmed.
Inspectors closed the La Colmena Bakery in Spring Branch at 10071 Timberwood because of all of the rodent droppings inside.
In the Heights, they closed the Tomas Bakery at 1307 Yale, citing an infestation of roaches and rodents.
They said Golden Hunan at 2953 Bingle was in need of pest control after they found rodent droppings in the food storage area.
And at Szechuan House at 9252 Bellaire, inspectors found rodent droppings on food storage shelves and on the floor right next to the dead mice that were still stuck on a glue board.
