Five arrested in series of burglaries in League City

LEAGUE CITY, Texas – League City police arrested five people after three separate burglaries within a span of several hours.  The first happened around 1 Friday morning at the Wharf townhomes.

A witness saw two men trying to cut a lock off a boat trailer on Davis Road. The burglars ran away when police showed up but were later caught not far from the crime.  Police arrested Jeremy Jones, 27, and Harvey Jones, 33.

Then a little more than an hour later, witnesses spotted two different men checking door handles at the same townhomes. Police found two men in a car that didn't belong to them. They also had a gun. Brooks Drier, 20, and Patrick Scott, 18, were arrested. They face charges for breaking into a car and stealing a firearm.

Minutes after that incident, police learned of another car burglary in the Sedona neighborhood. Officers were able to catch the suspect before getting away. The man they arrested is also suspected in several other car burglaries in the same neighborhood. Dustin Dyson, 21, was arrested. Detectives say he had a backpack that held stolen property from several vehicles. He's charged in at least five vehicle burglaries.
